'After Abu Ghraib' an interrogator's memoir

World Audience, Inc. A Literary Press, announces the publication of “After Abu Ghraib” by Dianna Skowera.

After the Abu Ghraib abuse scandal, the US Army came up with a plan to “renew the face of interrogation operations”. That plan was to create four interrogation battalions that would consist of interrogators and analysts who would train closely and extensively together.

“After Abu Ghraib” tells the story of the first of those interrogation battalions, which deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to test this new concept. Their mission was successful, historic, and like no other before. Due to the success of this battalion the continuation of the interrogation battalion concept will be continued.

Dianna Skowera takes us with her on a journey full of new and unique discoveries that only others in her battalion have experienced. From learning Arabic at a defense school and then facing her native Arab instructors as the Abu Ghraib photos were broadcast, to interrogation school, and to the task of becoming a part of the first interrogation battalion in history, Skowera’s “After Abu Ghraib” paints a picture of a road less traveled.

“After Abu Ghraib” shows the struggles and steps taken by the personalities who were brought together to bring both professionalism and effectiveness to detention operations. Ms. Skowera takes you on the unit’s mission to Iraq and shows what life is like overseas and in a detention facility for US soldiers, contractors, Iraqi soldiers, and detainees alike.

Learn what a unit similar to a large family, full of people who can tell if others are lying, is like living with. Ms. Skowera doesn’t hold back and reveals all of the Catch-22 factors of life in the military.
